What I learned in Sunday School Today
October 8th, 2006
We had lots of family over for Matthew’s Baby Blessing today. Because church is so early, for the most part they all stayed. We weren’t having dinner until after noon when we all came home anyway so there wasn’t much to do otherwise.
During Sunday School, we were talking about various things that the prophet Isaiah had written. One of the verses mentioned the “wings of eagles”. The instructor, wanting to help the class visualize the symbology of the eagles, asked what other bird could fly as high as an eagle. My father leaned over and told us that a buzzard could.
Anyway, we had a great time visiting with all the family. It’s not very often we all get together at the same time. If I’m not mistaking, we had the whole entire family here all at once. Here we are:

Thanks for sharing! That is so cool, the picture of your family, I mean. I always thought the “eagle” symbolized “freedom” and there is an old saying that goes: “You can’t soar with the eagles all day if you hoot with the owls all night.” I always used that one on my kids that didn’t like to go to bed at night. Needless to say it didn’t have much effect on them.

good analogy….nobody ever mentions ’soaring with the buzzards’ do they? Wish we coulda been there. 恭喜恭喜
