How Tim’s Birthday is Related to My Big Toe.
May 20th, 2007
Well, celebrated Tim’s birthday today. He is 3 years old. Blow out your candles Tim:

Tim got a few presents from family. He was happy with them all. He did go through this stage for part of the day where all of a sudden, everything was his (whether it was or wasn’t), but generally, he was glad to let his brothers see what he got too. One of the things he got was a new Tonka Dump Truck from his Grandmother. Here it is:

Now, Tim, being 3 years old, is still learning to pronounce words correctly. One of the sounds that doesn’t come out quite right is when he says the “tr” in truck. Unfortunately, it sounds more like an “F”. So if you were to call and ask Tim over the phone what he got for his birthday, he may just say that he got a Monster *uck.
How does all this relate to my toe? Well, yesterday, I was quite busy. I worked in the yard all day. Toward the end of the day, I got asked if I wanted to go play Tennis. It sounded like a great idea at the time. Afterward however, I think I was a bit too tired to go expend that amount of energy. That is besides the point other than I think I was also too tired to tie my shoes tight enough. There was a little bit of wiggle room. I’ve also been a little too lazy clipping my toe nails lately. The result was that after one particular quick stop, my toe nails hit the front of my shoes particularly hard and got jammed back into my toes. That didn’t feel very good at all.

Ok, I’ve rampled long enough. Here is how this all ties together. This evening when it was time to get our boys in bed, Dallin was somehow riding in the back of Tim’s new truck with Tim pushing. Yeah, you guessed it. They drove over my toe. Scroll back and take a look again at that truck and then at my toe. How would you like to have a 5 year old sitting in a monster truck drive over your already jammed toenail? I let out a yelp but I didn’t say truck like Tim says it. That picture I took of my toe was this morning. Now after my boys got to it, all that part that was red is now almost black. I’ve got to go soak it and go to bed now.
